A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer system that captures, stores, analyzes, manages, and presents spatial or geographic data. In simpler terms, it's a system that combines maps with data to help people understand patterns, relationships, and geographic context. GIS is used in a wide range of applications, from urban planning and environmental management to disaster response and business analysis.
